UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH POSTINGS 1851 |
---|
At a recent meeting of the Melbourne Presbytery of the United Presbyterian Church of Victoria, among other things, the religious condition of Collingwood came under consideration, when it was unanimously resolved to commence the formation of a Church in that populous and rapidly extending community under the pastoral superintendence of the Rev. Andrew Ross, late of Pitcairne, in Perthshire, Scotland.
A public meeting to further this object takes place on Tuesday evening in the Rev. Andrew Mitchell Ramsay's Church, Collins Street, Melbourne.
The Presbytery had also under consideration the destitute state of Albury, and have deputed one of their number, the Rev. David Hunter Ballantyne to visit that township.
